She will conduct a brief shakedown, which will include a final field test of the Slipstream Burst Drive, before she will be departing the Terran system for her first official assignment.

Their Federation Councillor, Baasa Naxin, has requested that Starfleet provide her transportation to Earth for the upcoming Council session. After putting out several diplomatic fires along the way, the Goddard brings the Councillor safely to Earth...where an announcement will send political shockwaves through the entire quadrant.
