Captain's Personal Log, Supplemental.

I have been in official command of the Goddard for three weeks now, and her crew roster is almost completely full. We still do not have a permanent Chief Medical Officer or a permanent Chief Helmsman; I am confident that the officers filling those positions on an interim basis will continue to perform adequately. We also do not have an Intelligence Office...and honestly, I do not personally care if that position is filled immediately. It may become more important in the future, of course; but for the time being, I consider it to be secondary at best.

In eight days, we will be conducting the final certification test for the Slipstream Burst Drive. If the test is successful, then the Drive will be considered successful and will be certified for duty. This final test will last approximately twenty one minutes, which will (hopefully) propel the Goddard the 118 lightyear distance to Cestus III. After this final test, she will begin her first official assignment.
